Originally built around 1882 The Caledonian Hotel is situated in the centre of Oban, located on the waterside next to the harbour, amid spectacular Scottish surroundings. During the Second World War the hotel was used as a base by the Royal Navy, but it has long since been restored to offer all the comfort and luxury you could wish for. Each of the Caledonian's 59 well appointed bedrooms has a nautical theme, in keeping with the hotel’s seafront location, with many providing stunning views overlooking Oban Bay to the mountains of Mull and Ardgour. Dining is available in Restaurant Caledonian and Top Deck Restaurant and Bar, which provides an intimate candlelit dining experience serving fantastic freshly prepared, locally sourced food. For a more relaxed setting the hotel's Caledonian Cafe Bar serves a great selection of light snacks and meals throughout the day, with spectacular views of the bay and islands.
Known as the ‘Gateway to the Isles’, scenic views, deserted beaches and fascinating wildlife are found in abundance.
